Research pays off!  Below are some examples of that over the past several years.

First time's a charm.  I found the medallion in Snail Lake Park on 1/22/2015.  That's my son Harrison standing with me at the podium.  Rob Brass and I had spoken about Snail the day before, but I didn't commit to hunting there until that morning.  It was a beautiful sunny day - perfect for treasure hunting.  I almost went into the office, but Rob texted me and said "Snail it is".  I bit on that optimism and remember convincing him to take the day off of work to join me at the park.

And again in 2016!  Rob's turn.  Brass picked up the 1st Annual Hiway Federal Credit Union $5,900 Gold Puck on 4/1/2016.  Forty five minutes after the last clue of a 5-week hunt at Crosby Farm Park.  I had just searched near the spot where Rob found it.  It was tucked under a large concrete block (typical vintage river valley debris).  Luckily, Rob wasn't familiar with asbestos fabric, so he put his hand where I wouldn't.  I assume the hider wasn't familiar with asbestos either.

And again in 2017!  This is the 2nd Annual Hiway Federal Credit Union $6,300 Gold Puck on 2/24/2017.  I found it in thirty minutes on clue one!  One day into a 5-week hunt.  Found it in the biggest tree in the most likely park in Washington County - Carver Lake.  Sadly, the sponsor realized hiding treasures was better suited for the Pioneer Press - there was no 3rd Annual Hunt for the Gold Puck.

And again in 2018!  We're sitting in the lobby of the Pioneer Press with our hunting pal Stacey on 1/31/2018.  This is after a 15 hour day of moving snow so we're a bit soggy, sore and tired.  Rob had just found the medallion in the last square foot of snow at the bottom of the huge snowbank at Harriet Island.  We were right there at his side when he reached down and picked it up.
